Responding to the suspension of the U.S. Refugee Admission Program by caring for impacted refugees in Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Texas
Our Goal and
Our Progress:
Current State Overview
This January, President Trump signed an executive order titled "Realigning the United States Refugee Admissions Program," which suspends the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). This suspension halts the entry of refugees into the United States until further notice, with minimal exceptions. Source
The suspension has significant implications for newly arrived refugees, particularly those who were in transit or had already been approved for resettlement. Many have had their travel plans canceled, leaving them in precarious situations. Refugees rely on resettlement services for essential support such as housing, food, English classes, and job placement. These services are integral to helping families achieve self-sufficiency and become contributing members of their communities. Source
With the suspension of USRAP, federal funding for these services has been halted, creating a significant funding gap for agencies like World Relief. For instance, under the program, each refugee family receives approximately $5,000 to cover basic needs during their first three months. Without this funding, the basic needs of refugees already in the country will not be met. Source
We can't do everything, but we can do something.
Through World Relief in DFW, there are 60 family units - 336 individuals - who are most impacted, without funding for essential food, housing, clothing, etc. over the upcoming months.
Our Hope:
We need $10,000 to meet the basic needs of two DFW refugee families.

Some thoughts to consider:
If able, we hope you can join us in this opportunity to give with joy. If we live in abundance, may we also give in abundance.
If it feels helpful, consider how you can give sacrificially. Is there a want you could surrender to give to another's need?
Consider also how you can give over time: perhaps you only have $20 now, but could you give $20 a month for the next 6 months?

Thank you for joining us in this important cause. We couldn't do it without you.
Stay in touch.
We'll update you whenever we have great neighboring updates to share! (Not more than monthly, we promise.)
